Man charged after pedestrian hit by vehicle in Prince Albert

A 31-year-old man is facing several charges after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Prince Albert.

Police say officers were called to a parking lot on the 1600 block of 2nd Avenue West at about 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers found a 40-year-old woman with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital and is in stable condition as of Thursday morning.

Police say the vehicle involved in the crash initially left the scene, but later a man went to police station in the suspect vehicle and claimed responsibility for the incident.

Police say he was arrested, and the vehicle was seized.

The man is charged with aggravated assault, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and failing to remain at the scene of an accident-causing bodily harm.

He is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Thursday.
