A La Ronge man is facing charges for a reported shooting that happened over the weekend. According to RCMP, it happened Saturday at around 11 a.m. when a vehicle approached a home on Cook Crescent in La Ronge. Mounties say several people got out of the vehicle, eventually leading to an altercation between them and someone at the property. At some point in the altercation, a gun was fired, injuring a female who stayed inside the vehicle. She was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening. After investigating, Mounties arrested a 36-year-old man at the home. They also say they found and seized a gun near the property. The La Ronge man has been charged with one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of discharging a firearm with intent and three counts of assault with a weapon. The man made his first court appearance on Monday, July 20 and is scheduled to make his next appearance on Aug. 17.
