A pair of street racers near Saskatoon are facing steep fines and licence suspensions after being caught travelling more than 100 km/h over the speed limit. On the night of Aug. 27, members of Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan in the Corman Park area witnessed two vehicles travelling at a high rate of speed and appeared to be racing one another. Using a “laser speed timing device” the drivers were caught travelling at a speed of 202 km/h in a 90 km/h zone. Both vehicles were stopped and each driver was issued more than $2,000 in tickets and a 60-day vehicle impound along with 14-day licence suspensions.
