LONDON - Liverpool is planning to bulldoze the house where the former Beatle's drummer Ringo Starr lived out the first three months of his life.

The city, which was the home of the famed band, said Wednesday that Starr only lived in the house for a short time and that it would cost 150,000 pounds (US$233,000) to simply stop it from falling down.

It is planning to replace the home and several others in hopes of sprucing up the area's downmarket housing.

The home where Starr lived for 20 years on Liverpool's Admiral Grove is still standing and being lived in.

Britain's National Trust has preserved the homes of Paul McCartney and John Lennon.
