Czechia slipped past Canada White 3-2 on Monday at the 2025 U17 World Challenge in Truro, NS. Regina Pats rookies Maddox Schultz and Liam Pue are playing for Canada White which now has a 1-1-0-0 record after Monday’s loss. Adam Nemec scored twice and Michal Hartl added a single for Czechia while Eli McKamey and Kayden Stroeder replied for Canada White. Schultz earned an assist on Stroeder’s goal. Schultz had a hat trick in the win while Pue scored two goals and added three assists. The tournament features two teams from Canada, Canada White and Canada Red, along with teams from Sweden, Czechia, Finland and the United States. Canada White is in Group A with Sweden and Czechia while Canada Red is in Group B with Finland and the U.S. Czechia is in first place in Group A with a 1-0-0-0 record followed by Canada White (1-1-0-0) and Sweden (0-1-0-0). Czechia and Sweden play in the group’s final round-robin game Tuesday afternoon. In Group B, Canada Red is in first place with a 1-0-0-0 mark followed by the U.S. (0-1-0-0) and Finland (0-0-1-1). The group will finish the round-robin portion Tuesday night when Canada Red plays the U.S. Pue is currently tied for the tournament lead in scoring with five points on two goals and three assists while Maddox is second with four points from three goals and one assist. Finland’s Lenni Kokkonen is tied with Pue for the scoring lead, registering five points on one goal and four assists. Wednesday is an off day at the tournament with the playoffs beginning Thursday, Nov. 6, culminating with the gold-medal game on Saturday, Nov. 8.
