A man in southeast Saskatchewan is facing several weapons related charges after allegedly pointing a gun at another person, police say. On July 4, Estevan RCMP learned through a report that a man had pointed a gun at another person on a rural property located around 16 kilometres southwest of Oxbow. No physical injuries were reported to RCMP. Four days later, officers from various RCMP teams from Estevan, Carnduff, Carlyle, Broadview, Moosomin and Yorkton executed a search warrant at the home where the incident allegedly took place. Officers discovered four loaded guns and an imitation firearm. Two people were arrested, with the second person eventually being released without charge. However, the first person, a 45-year-old man from the RM of Enniskillen, faces a total of 14 charges. They include assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, using an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence and five counts each of unsafe storage of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm. The accused made his first appearance in Weyburn Provincial Court on July 9. The investigation continues, according to RCMP.
