A cheerleading team from Saskatoon has made it to the final round of The Cheerleading Worlds for a second year. Fever from Prairie Fire Cheerleading (PFC) was sitting in eighth place out of 23 teams in the International Open – Level 5 category, and third place out of nine Canadian teams. Their final run took place on Monday afternoon with the awards ceremony scheduled for later in the evening. They finished in eighth place. In 2024, Fever placed third, earning the club their first medal at the prestigious competition held every year in Orlando, Fla. Two other Saskatchewan teams in the same category did not advance to the final round – Regina’s Rebels Cheerleading team Smoke finished in 15th place, which landed them in fifth out of nine Canadian teams. Onyx from Warman Ultimate Cheer finished 21st overall. Other Saskatchewan teams representing the province at The Cheerleading Worlds included Boss Athletics Luxe and PFC TNT. Neither of those teams qualified for finals. Alumni All-Stars Royals also competed at The Dance Worlds, which was also held in Orlando. They made it to finals in the Open Pom category and placed 25th out of 34 teams. Last week, three Saskatchewan teams represented Team Canada in Doubles Hip Hop, Senior Pom, and Senior Hip Hop at the ICU World Cheerleading Championship, also being held in Orlando.
