Regina police are once again asking people to be on the lookout for a STARS Lottery video call scam. It comes after a string of reported incidents where people said they received calls from someone posing as a STARS Lottery representative, while also claiming involvement with the Bank of Montreal. During the calls, individuals were told they won a prize and were required to send between $300 and $500 before arrangements could be made to pick it up. Whenever anyone told the caller they weren’t listed as winners on the STARS Lottery website, the caller would say the names would be added to the list after the money was sent.
