A Regina police officer who was facing a breach of trust charge pleaded guilty on Friday. Following a lengthy investigation, Robert Eric Semenchuck was charged in March for allegedly accessing internal databases to pursue personal relationships. The police service was made aware of the allegations in early 2023 after a member of the public came forward with information. At that time, Semenchuck, who had 22 years of service with the Regina Police Service, was suspended immediately and was blocked from accessing police databases. Semenchuck entered a guilty plea to breach of trust and unauthorized use of a computer at Regina Provincial Court on Friday. His sentencing has been adjourned to Jan. 23, 2026.
