Regina police find body in vehicle after driver flees officers

Regina police say a body was found in a vehicle that fled officers. The death is considered suspicious.

The Regina Police Service (RPS) is investigating after a body was discovered in a vehicle that was involved in a pursuit early Monday morning.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Jan. 19, Regina police officers attempted to pull over a vehicle near Saskatchewan Drive and Albert Street.

The vehicle evaded police but was located on the 1400 block of Princess Street a short time later by the service’s aerial support plane. All of those inside the vehicle had fled the scene by the time officers arrived on the ground.

A search of the suspect vehicle led to police discovering the body of man inside.

Further investigation led officers to the 3700 block of Dewdney Avenue.

Both scenes were secured and investigators with major crimes and the forensic identification unit were called in.

The death is considered suspicious. RPS is not identifying the victim at this time.
