Regina police and paramedics responded to a collision involving a pedestrian in the city’s east end on Monday afternoon. According to an email from the Regina Police Service (RPS), officers were called to the scene on Prince of Wales Drive near the entrance to Walmart around 2:20 p.m. Several police vehicles, a fire engine and an ambulance were witnessed at the scene. Traffic delays in the area were apparent, as the collision blocked the northbound lanes of Prince of Wales Drive at Westfair Road. In the email, RPS said there are few details to share at this time, adding that more information will be provided when available. Traffic delays can be expected in the area for the time being. In an update Tuesday afternoon, Regina police confirmed that a vehicle collided with a woman, who was a pedestrian, in the intersection of Prince of Wales Drive and Westfair Road. The woman was transported by paramedics to hospital. She sustained serious injuries in the collision, according to the service. Police noted that the driver remained at the scene. “There is no further information to share at this time,” the update read.
