One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 20 near Lanigan Sask. on Friday night. Humboldt RCMP Officers, along with local fire and EMS responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m. and determined that a SUV and tractor-trailer unit collided, according to a release from Saskatchewan RCMP. A passenger in the SUV, who was identified as a man from another country, was declared dead by EMS at the scene. RCMP said his family has been notified but are not providing further information about him. A driver and two other passengers were in the SUV at the time of the collision and were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer-unit did not report injuries to police, RCMP said. Humboldt RCMP and a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist continue to investigate. Lanigan is located about 172 kilometres north of Regina and about 128 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
