Moose Jaw police searching for red truck in connection to hit and run

The Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) is providing more details and asking for the public’s help as it continues to investigate a hit and run that occurred earlier this month.

Officers were called to the intersection of 1st Avenue Northeast and Oxford Street East at around 12 p.m. on Aug. 2 after a hit and run involving a pedestrian was reported.

Police say the suspect fled east on Oxford Street in what is believed to be a red pickup truck. The victim was taken to hospital by paramedics while suffering from serious injuries.

The police service asked residents in the area to check CCTV footage from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In an update issued on Sunday, the police service said that after reviewing footage from the area, officers believe there was a witness to the crash that was travelling in a black car or SUV west towards the intersection.

The suspect’s vehicle is described to be a “tomato red, four door truck.” However, at this time, the make and model of the vehicle are unknown.

The police service encourages anyone with information to contact MJPS or submit a tip to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
