Labour Day tornado confirmed near Weyburn

Tornado researchers have confirmed a lands­pout south of Weyburn, bringing Saskatchewan’s 2026 tornado total to 37.

Researchers have confirmed a tornado touched down near Weyburn on Labour Day.

In an update issued Wednesday morning, the Northern Tornadoes Project confirmed a brief landspout tornado touched down around 3:20 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7.

However, due to no damage being reported, it was given an EF0 or default rating.

NTP says no injuries were reported either. The satellite imagery review of the incident is pending.
