Flooding at The Hotel Saskatchewan in the heart of Regina’s downtown has forced guests to find other lodgings. According to the hotel, flooding began Sunday night. Cleanup is underway and continues Tuesday, but no timeline is available on when it might be complete. Guests were relocated to the Delta Hotel for the time being. The cause of the flooding is currently unconfirmed. However, it comes after a weekend of severe thunderstorms in southern Saskatchewan that also brought flooding to communities including the town of Eston. The community, located northwest of Regina, reported 100 millimetres of rain within a 12-hour period on Saturday, July 19.
