Government House holds annual Easter Egg Hunt

Regina’s Government House hosted their annual Easter egg and trading them in for Easter treats at the annual spring event.

The Government House held its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday.

As part of the free event, kids were required to bring their Easter baskets and locate six different coloured eggs throughout the grounds of the Government House.

Once they collected all six eggs, they could bring them to the prize desk inside for an Easter treat.

Kids could also complete the Easter scavenger hunt inside the museum for another prize.

Attendance has increased every single year as well. In their first year, they started out with a few hundred people. In 2025, they had 1,800 people.

“I think it’s just because we’re known as a great community organization that helps put on, not only multiple events throughout the year, but free events,” said Gareth Evans, who is in charge of programming and visiting services at the Government House.

Though there wasn’t a sighting of the Easter Bunny on Saturday, the presence was still felt.

“Certainly, we always appreciate chocolate treats here at Government House,” Evans said. “While we’re giving out quite a few today, if he wants to make an appearance and drop some Easter eggs off at Government House, I’m sure my staff and I would enjoy it.”
