Worker dies after being struck by tractor trailer on worksite near Merrickville, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police say a worker has died after being struck by a tractor trailer on a worksite near Merrickville.

Police were called to a construction site on Wolford Drive, just off Burritts Rapids Road at around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

The 61-year-old victim was working on the site and was struck by the tractor trailer, which was being operated by another worker.

OPP did not provide any additional details about the incident and have only said the investigation is continuing.

The Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development is also investigating, but could not provide additional details.

“A ministry inspector has been assigned to investigate. As the investigation is ongoing, no further details are available at this time,” a statement said.
