If you’re wondering what movies to check out this weekend, film reviewer Matt Demers, A.K.A. Mr. Hollywood, has you covered. Demers joined CTV Your Morning Ottawa on Friday to share his take on three new films you can catch in theaters this weekend. Prime Time (R) This film details the rise and fall of the hit-series “To Catch a Predator,” and Mr. Hollywood said it’s a hit. “I’ll tell you what, this movie I love. Okay, deliciously gritty is what we have here,” Mr. Hollywood said. “It’s brimming with these kind of venomous dialog and the performances — Robert Pattinson, I’ll tell you what, he burrows under your skin and he’s going to stay there.” The film stars Pattinson, Merritt Weaver and Skyler Gisondo. It was directed by Lance Oppenheim. Forgotten Island (PG) Mr. Hollywood says this animated film follows a pair of friends who find themselves lost after travelling through a mysterious portal. “They got to go back, retrace their steps, but there’s so much more to it than that. It’s wildly imaginative and just really fun and has great themes around friendship. I like this one quite a bit,” Mr. Hollywood said. Joel Crawford and Januel P. Mercado wrote and directed the film, and it stars Dave Franco, Jenny Slate and Manny Jacinto. Heart of the Beast (PG-13) Dog-lovers will want to check out this new Brad Pitt-led survival film, Demers says. “This is him and his dog, and they see there’s a harrowing kind of plane crash, and they got to survive. It’s a survival film, man and dog, powerful, emotional stuff going on here,” Mr. Hollywood said. “Heart of the Beast” stars Pitt, J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe, and was directed by David Ayer.
