A 71-year-old man is facing charges after vehicles were damaged by flying garbage from a pickup truck on a busy highway in eastern Ontario. Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded to a report that garbage was falling from a truck travelling on Highway 7 near Arden Road in Central Frontenac on Sunday afternoon. “One driver reported that debris had caused significant damage to their vehicle, with another driver reporting minor damage,” the OPP said in a media release. “Officers located the pickup truck, which had already pulled over.” The truck driver is facing a charge for having an insecure load. “Motorists are reminded that anything in the open box of a truck, or in a trailer, must be safely secured,” the OPP said.
