A teenage driver from Cornwall is facing several charges in connection to a crash that killed a 16-year-old girl in South Stormont earlier this summer. Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to a single-vehicle collision on Headline Road near County Road 19 at approximately 3:40 a.m. on July 26. Three people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, according to OPP. Two others in the car had serious injuries. After an investigation, OPP announced it had arrested a 17-year-old from Cornwall on Tuesday. The teen is facing six charges in connection with the crash, including: The driver cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The accused was released from custody after a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in a Cornwall courtroom at a later date.
