Adrenaline will be pumping in the ByWard Market this winter as the district is set to be the site of freestyle snowmobile shows for Winterlude 2026 in February. According to a news release from the ByWard Market District Authority, the district will host four free snowmobile shows performed by the winter festival organizers Barbegazi from Feb. 6 to Feb. 8. “The event will bring world-class freestyle snowmobile athletes to the heart of downtown Ottawa for four gravity-defying shows,” the ByWard Market District Authority wrote. Snowmobile athletes will perform aerial maneuvers up to 40-feet in the air, and each performance will run 25 to 30 minutes. There will also be on-site music, entertainment and meet-and-greets. “Barbegazi brings its high-intensity winter action sports to the nation’s capital with free stunt shows all weekend long,” Barbegazi wrote on their website. “From freestyle tricks to high-speed performances, our athletes will transform Ottawa’s winter playground into a spectacular show of speed, style, and snow.” There will be one evening show Friday, Feb. 6, two shows Saturday, Feb. 7 and one afternoon show on Sunday, Feb. 8. Exact showtimes will be revealed at a later date.
