Ontario’s police watchdog is seeking witnesses to a collision in Kingston on the weekend involving a police cruiser and another vehicle. According to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), a Kingston police officer in a marked cruiser on the way to a call and the driver of a Subaru collided in the area of Brock and Victoria streets at around 9:40 a.m. on Saturday. The driver of the Subaru, a 70-year-old woman, was seriously injured. Her passenger was also taken to hospital. One subject official has been designated at this time. The SIU is an independent government agency that investigates the conduct of police that may have resulted in death, serious injury, sexual assault and/or the discharge of a firearm at a person.
