Travellers will be able to fly from Ottawa to Deer Lake, N.L., starting this spring. Porter Airlines announced a new seasonal flight will begin June 10 between Ottawa and Deer Lake, with five flights a week. “Porter Airlines’ new non-stop service between Ottawa and Deer Lake is another strong vote of confidence in YOW and in our region,” Susan Margles, president and CEO of the Ottawa International Airport Authority, said in a statement. “With the most non-stop routes from Ottawa, Porter continues to expand meaningful connections, and we’re pleased to support this latest addition. The service strengthens Ottawa’s role in Porter’s network while giving travellers convenient access to western Newfoundland.” Deer Lake is located 50 km from Corner Brook. Porter Airlines currently offers non-stop service between Ottawa and St. John’s. Porter Airlines is set to expand its flight offerings out of Ottawa this spring, with non-stop service from the Ottawa Airport to Windsor, Sudbury and Kelowna. Starting May 1, Porter will launch non-stop service between Ottawa and Windsor, with seven flights a week. Porter will also offer non-stop service between Ottawa and Sudbury, with seven flights a week. On May 13, Porter will begin non-stop service between Ottawa and Kelowna, with five flights a week. Porter is also launching non-stop service between Toronto’s Pearson Airport and Austin, Texas on May 21. Porter will offer flights from City Centre Airport to Chicago’s O’Hare, starting in September.
