Travellers in Ottawa will have a new option for getting to London, Ont., next spring, with new direct flights between the capital and the southwestern Ontario city. The Ottawa connection is part of an expansion at the London International Airport, with Porter adding flights connecting London to Halifax, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Montreal. “This expansion demonstrates that Porter is committed to making London a meaningful part of our network,” said Kevin Jackson, president of Porter Airlines, in a news release. “Travellers across Southwestern Ontario will have convenient access to popular cities from coast to coast, combined with the elevated, passenger-first experience Porter is known for. The addition of these routes ensures that over two million residents in the region have convenient travel options from their local airport.” The Ottawa-London flights will run 20 times per week, starting April 12, 2027, Porter says. It will use the 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft. “Porter’s new Ottawa–London route brings our communities closer and makes business, tourism, and family travel more accessible,” said Ottawa International Airport Authority vice-president of business development and marketing Joel Tkach. “London’s blend of nature, education, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing makes it a standout destination in Southwestern Ontario. Connecting it to Canada’s Capital Region strengthens these regional ties while giving travellers a faster, more convenient link across the province and beyond.” The news comes after Porter cancelled its nonstop flights between Ottawa and Sudbury, Ont., after three months in operation due to low demand.
