Ontario Provincial Police say a portion of Highway 17 in eastern Ontario has reopened in both directions hours after a collision that brought down hydro lines. Police reported that the driver of a transport truck had crashed at around 11 a.m. Tuesday. Lanes were closed in both directions until around 3:15 p.m. The OPP says traffic is making alternating use of one lane at the site of the collision. “Watch for traffic flaggers and follow their direction,” police said. Hydro One reported approximately 5,500 customers without power immediately following the crash. Power was restored at around 5 p.m. OPP say no one was reported hurt.
