Ottawa to see stretch of 30 C days starting on Friday

The summer heat is set to return to Ottawa, with six straight days of temperatures above 30 C in the forecast for the national capital region.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a high of 27 C today, before temperatures warm up to 30 C on Friday and 31 C on Saturday and Sunday.

The hot temperatures arrive as Environment Canada’s monthly forecast calls for above-seasonal temperatures in Ottawa and eastern Ontario over the next four weeks.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 27 C and a low of 16 C.

It will be mainly cloudy today with a 40 per cent chance of afternoon showers. There is a risk of a thunderstorm. High 27 C.

The forecast calls for a partly cloudy night with a 40 per cent chance of showers. Low 16 C.

Friday will be mainly sunny. High 30 C with the humidex making it feel like 36.

Sunshine is expected on Saturday. High 31 C.

The outlook for Sunday calls for cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers. High 31 C.

Monday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers. High 30 C.

Environment Canada’s long-range forecast calls for a high of 31 C next Tuesday and 30 C on Wednesday.
