Ottawa police looking to identify suspects involved in ByWard Market assault

The Ottawa Police Service is seeking the public’s help in identifying two women allegedly involved in an assault in the ByWard Market last week.

Police say officers responded to the 400 block of Cumberland Street after getting reports of a disturbance outside a restaurant.

During the incident, police say the suspects “shoved and punched” the victim before fleeing the area on foot.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

The first suspect is described as a woman, approximately 30 years old with a short stature, thin build and dark hair worn in a ponytail. She was wearing dark pants, a pink shirt with a dark star on the front, a black coat and black loafers. She was also carrying a small backpack.

The second suspect is described as a woman, approximately 30 years old, with a short stature, thin build and curly red hair. She was wearing jeans, a black crop top, a dark green jacket and a black baseball cap with a Nike logo on the front left. She was wearing brown three-inch boots and was carrying a black purse.
