Ottawa police are asking for the public’s assistance identifying a suspect for their alleged involvement in a Carling Avenue robbery earlier this summer. According to a news release from police, on June 7, 2026, at approximately 11:11 a.m., a suspect entered a store on Carling Avenue near Merivale Road. The suspect concealed multiple items in a bag and when staff attempted to intervene, he pulled out a weapon and threatened them. The suspect fled the area on foot. Police say the suspect is an approximately 30-year-old man with dirty reddish-brown hair and a beard. At the time of the incident, he wore prescription glasses and a dark coloured jacket. Police say no one was injured during the incident. Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service robbery unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5116.
