Ottawa’s night mayor has launched a new website to raise awareness about the capital’s nightlife and help residents and visitors explore Ottawa at night, as part of the plan to shake the image as the “town that fun forgot.” The new Ottawa at Night website is intended to provide information about things to do in Ottawa, with a list of 99 venues that offer live music, theatres, nightclubs, comedy clubs, pubs/bars and cinemas. “The site caters mostly to individuals who want to plan a night out,” the City of Ottawa’s Nightlife Office said in a statement. “You can use the Venues directory to find nightlife spots with the vibe you’re looking for.” The venues are listed by category and by location in the east, west, south, central and rural. “The Ottawa at Night website includes listings of nightlife venues across the city, and can be searched by the type of experience people are looking for and the area of the city they want to visit,” Mathieu Grondin, Ottawa’s Nightlife Commissioner, said in a statement. The website also has a “Safety” section, that offers a safety guide for people going out at night and for people who work in nightlife venues.
