OPP arrest 3 people after gunshot heard in Pembroke home

Ontario Provincial Police say three people have been arrested following an incident in downtown Pembroke that involved a gunshot and a report of intimate partner violence.

The OPP say officers were called to a home on Victoria Street at around 7 p.m. Friday after the shot was heard. The homeowner was called to come out, and then officers went inside and found three other people, all of whom were arrested.

No one was reported or observed to be injured, police said.

Two of the individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants, according to police, and the third was arrested for failing to comply with a release order. The fourth person at the home was interviewed and released unconditionally, police said.

One of the accused was released on a promise to appear in court, and two others remain in custody, with appearances before a Justice of the Peace on Saturday.

Police said the names of the accused are not being released due to the intimate partner violence allegations, in order to protect the identities of any victims.
