A new restaurant will open on Elgin Street this spring, filling the space left vacant by St. Louis Bar and Grill in Ottawa’s Centretown neighbourhood. Signs appeared on the windows at 399 Elgin Street this week, promoting a Good Neighbour restaurant coming soon to the location. “A fun take on your classic neighbourhood restaurant and bar,” says the Good Neighbour Ottawa website. According to its Instagram account, Good Neighbour is “moving in Spring 2025” to Centretown. St. Louis Bar and Grill closed on Elgin Street in January after 18 years of business. The restaurant was a key fixture on Sens Mile with a large patio to watch games. “It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce after 18 years of business, we are closing our doors,” said a note on the St. Louis Bar and Grill Instagram account, signed by the “St. Louis Elgin Family.” “We want to thank our amazing guests for all your love and support over the years.”
