A new hotel has opened in downtown Ottawa with 224 rooms. Moxy Ottawa Downtown, managed by RIMAP Hospitality Services, has opened on York Street near Dalhousie Street. “Smack dab in the middle of the action, Moxy Ottawa Downtown puts you just steps from the buzz of the ByWard Market and the best of Ottawa’s business and entertainment scenes,” said a post on the Moxy Ottawa Downtown website. “Our stylish, smartly designed bedrooms give you everything you need and nothing you don’t. Thoughtfully curated social spaces invite you to chill, kick back, or hook up with friends over great food and drinks.” A media release says Moxy Ottawa Downtown will be a “social hub, a nightlife destination and a gathering place for travellers and locals alike.” The hotel includes an indoor pool, the Moxy Gym, and a business centre, along with Moxy Bar, which is open daily for breakfast and dinner and serves handcrafted cocktails. “Featuring stylish guestrooms, communal lounges, flexible coworking areas, and playful design touches throughout, the property invites guests and locals alike to connect, celebrate, and experience Ottawa differently,” the hotel said in a media release. The Moxy Ottawa Downtown is the second hotel to open in the ByWard Market area by RIMAP Hospitality in just over a year, after AC Hotel by Marriott Ottawa Downtown opened on Rideau Street last year. The Renaissance Hotel Ottawa Downtown is scheduled to open on Slater Street in 2027.
