Two candidates are on the ballot for councillor in Osgoode in the 2026 municipal election. Incumbent Coun. Isabelle Skalski was first elected councillor in Osgoode in a 2025 byelection. Skalski previously worked as a public servant and is the former present of the Greely Community Association. . The other candidate on the ballot is Bruce Anthony Faulkner, who registered just before the Aug. 21 deadline. Former Coun. George Darouze won the 2022 municipal election with 40.8 per cent of the vote. Darouze resigned in 2025 and was elected Progressive Conservative MPP in Carleton. It’s my Life by Bon Jovi How often do you use OC Transpo? I used to take it to work daily. Now that I spend more time in the ward, I use it only sometimes. Would you work to increase or decrease transit fares as part of a plan to improve OC Transpo? I don’t want to see fares increase. I’d like to see reliability and service improve so that ridership can increase and cover more of the transit operating costs. Would you support increasing the police budget? Yes Do you support an infrastructure levy to improve road and sewer infrastructure? No. We need all levels of government to direct more of the current tax revenue to infrastructure - not to add more levies/ taxes. Describe in 250 words or less what the biggest issues are in your ward in this election: The biggest issues facing Osgoode Ward are aging infrastructure, road safety, investment in our rural villages, and managing growth while protecting agricultural land. Our roads are deteriorating and require consistent investment to address maintenance and reconstruction needs. The same is true for our drainage system. Rural roads lack a police presence and continue to see a great number of collisions - meaning that investing in road safety, police enforcement, and traffic light installation is a must. Our rural villages need investment - improvements to mainstreets, parks, and local infrastructure is needed to make our communities more attractive places to live and do business. Agricultural and rural lands continue to face development pressure. Protecting productive farmland and ensuring the safety of our groundwater must remain a priority as Ottawa grows.
