An elderly man is being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in Ottawa’s west end. Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps says a man on a motorized wheelchair was struck by a vehicle on Merivale Road near Viewmount Drive. The collision occurred at 1:15 p.m. Friday. Deschamps says the victim was treated for serious injuries, and he was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Ottawa police are investigating.
