A resident of Kanata is $1 million richer after winning a Lotto 6/49 prize earlier this summer. According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), Yves C. of Kanata won July 18’s Gold Ball Draw. Yves has been playing the lottery for 30 years and called his son upon learning of his winnings. “So far, I’ve only shared the news with family. Everyone is still shocked and in awe,” he said in a statement. OLG says Yves plans to use his winnings to pay bills, invest and take a two-week European cruise. “This win is life-changing for me,” Yves said. OLG says the winning ticket was purchased at CNIB kiosk in Walmart on Fernbank Road in Stittsville.
