Police in western Quebec say investigators don’t suspect foul play was involved after human remains were discovered in the Chelsea sector of Gatineau Park. The MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police continue to investigate after human remains were found in the area of a trail on Thursday. Police did not say where the remains were discovered. On Friday, police said investigators have set up a command post at the P16 parking lot on Pine Road in Chelsea to continue the investigation. “At this time, there is no indication that the individual was the victim of a crime,” police said in a French media release. Officers with the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police are working with the K9 unit from the Sûreté du Québec and NCC conservation officers on the investigation. The P16 parking lot on Pine Road and Trails 36 and 50 in Gatineau Park remains closed. The National Capital Commission says the P16 parking lot and the following trails are closed: Trail 45, Trail 36: from Trail 50 to Trail 36b, Trail 47 and Trail 50: from P16 to Trail 36.
