Ottawa’s newest nightclub will officially open next week in the ByWard Market. Live Nation Canada confirms the new ‘History Ottawa’ will open on Aug. 20. Live Nation Canada unveiled plans in February 2025 to open a 2,000-person concert venue in the former Chapters building on Rideau Street. Construction has been underway this year to renovate the former store into a nightclub. The Wallflowers are the first scheduled performers at History Ottawa on Aug. 20. Other confirmed performers include Kaleo on Sept. 9, The Pretty Reckless - Dear God Tour on Sept. 13, UB40 on Sept. 18. Marianas Trench on Oct. 24, TALK on Dec. 4 and Jaime Fine on Dec. 12.
