The Ottawa Charge continue their quest for the Professional Women’s Hockey League championship tonight, hosting Game 1 of the Walter Cup. The Charge face the Minnesota Frost at the Arena at TD Place, with puck drop at 7 p.m. The Charge will host Games 1 and 2 of the best-of-five series, before the series shifts to Minnesota for Games 3 and 4. Schedule Tickets Tickets are still available for Game 1 and Game 2 of the PWHL championship series at the Arena at TD Place. Game 1 The Ottawa Charge are inviting fans to “Electric Avenue” for Game 1 of the PWHL final. Fans are invited to welcome the Charge as they arrive outside Game 1 between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. The event will include a live MC with music, face painting and more. From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Ottawa’s Jamie Fine will perform on the field at TD Place until the doors open. Key players Charge Charge goalie Gwyneth Philips leads the PWHL in wins, goals against average and save percentage so far in the playoffs. Philips posted a 1.14 GAA and a 0.956 save percentage in the first round against Montreal. Captain Brianne Jenner leads the Charge in playoff scoring, with two goals and an assist in four games. Emily Clark also has three points for the Charge. Frost Frost forward Taylor Heise leads the PWHL in playoff scoring, with one goal and six assists in four games. Lee Stecklein has six points for the Frost, who has the top six scorers so far in the PWHL playoffs. Regular season meetings The Frost and Charge split the six-game regular season series, each winning three games. The Walter Cup The Walter Cup weighs 35 lbs., stands 24 inches tall and is made of sterling silver. It was created in partnership with Tiffany & Co. According to the PWHL. it features a removable base that will include the engraved name of the winning team. The Walter Cup is named after the Walter Family, who provided the foundational support that launched the PWHL.
