A G2 driver is facing a charge of stunt driving after being observed speeding 171 km/h during the rush hour on Highway 417 in Ottawa. Ontario Provincial Police say an officer travelling on Hwy. 417 observed a “vehicle following too closely, passing an unmarked police vehicle, and weaving through heavy rush-hour traffic.” The driver in the Mustang was travelling at speeds ranging from 157 km/h to 171 km/h, according to police. The charge of stunt driving includes a 30-day driver’s license suspension and the vehicle impounded for 14 days. “Excessive speed and aggressive driving behaviours put all road users at risk,” police said. “No destination or schedule is worth compromising the safety of others.”
