A 77-year-old driver is facing a stunt driving charge after being stopped speeding 61 km/h over the speed limit in Ottawa’s east end. The Ottawa Police Service’s Traffic Escort and Enforcement Unit says an officer noticed a driver going 141 km/h in the construction zone on Highway 174 on Friday. The speed limit is 80 km/h. “Flyin’ thru construction zones (workers present) is guaranteed to get our attention,” police said on X. The driver is facing a charge of stunt driving, which includes a 30-day licence suspension and the vehicle impounded for 14 days.
