Those looking for a place to cool off this summer can now take a plunge in Dow’s Lake. The National Capital Commission kicked off its second season of swimming at the floating dock near Commissioner’s Park on Saturday. “The water quality results are in,” the NCC said in a video posted on social media before a swimmer is seen appearing from the water with a “PASS” sign. Unsupervised swimming at the dock is open every day. The NCC says is has conducted robust testing in the area to make the water safe. Water quality testing is completed every Friday and the results are available online. The dock is universally accessible and features Muskoka chairs to relax and bike racks. A portable washroom is available nearby. The NCC says the Summer Zone will also be returning this year, with more details coming at a later date.
