A section of Holly Acres Road in Ottawa’s west end will be closed this week to allow crews to repair damage caused by the heavy rain on Canada Day. The City of Ottawa says repairs are needed to the culvert on Holly Acres Road so the road can fully reopen to traffic. Ottawa received 118 mm of rain on July 1, which caused flooding on roads and in basements across the west end of the city. Holly Acres Road will be closed to northbound traffic between Richmond Road and the 416/417 eastbound off-ramp, and southbound between Carling Avenue and Richmond Road. The northbound Highway 416 off-ramp to Holly Acres Road will be closed this week. “Drivers exiting eastbound on Highway 417 at Holly Acres Road will only be able to turn left at the intersection towards Carling Avenue,” the city said. The work is expected to be completed by Monday at 12 p.m. OC Transpo OC Transpo says the closure of Holly Acres Road will impact service.
