The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will perform a final flight over Kingston, Ont. this week before the fleet is retired at the end of the season. The Snowbirds will conduct a non-aerobatic display over the Kingston waterfront at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. “Show begins at about 5 p.m., with the display centred on Confederation Park, offering spectators one of the best views of the city, right along the waterfront,” the Snowbirds announced on Facebook. “Expect our routine of graceful, non-aerobatic version of our maneouvers designed to highlight precision flying. Come celebrate our 55th anniversary season with us.” The Snowbirds conducted a non-aerobatic display over the Spencerville Fair on Sunday. They will perform at the Aero Gatineau-Ottawa next weekend at the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport in Gatineau, the final scheduled performance in Canada. The federal government announced in May that Canada will retire the aging CT-114 Tutor jets at the end of the current season, and the Department of National Defence will procure the CT-157 Siskin II for the future Snowbirds teams. The Snowbirds have been entertaining crowds since 1971. The Canadian Forces Snowbirds, 431 Air Demonstration Squadron are based at 15 Wing Moose Jaw, Sask.
