Body found in water near Alexandra Bridge, paramedics say

Paramedics say a body was pulled from the Ottawa River this afternoon.

Paramedics say a body was pulled from the water near the Alexandra Bridge on the Ottawa River Wednesday afternoon.

Ottawa paramedics spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps says crews were called to the area at approximately 4 p.m.

A large emergency response was seen with firefighter water rescue teams and police.

The cause of the death is unclear.

Ottawa police say the death is not considered suspicious at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

The person’s identity has not been confirmed.
