3 arrested in Kingston, Ont. after resident spots driver dropping off people in black masks

Police in Kingston, Ont., say three people have been arrested after officers received a call about two people in black masks getting out of a car Thursday night.

Police received the call at around 8 p.m., from the 1500 block of Westbrook Road. Officers found the two masked individuals standing beside an open door in the backyard of a home.

One of the suspects ran away and was eventually arrested. The second person was arrested without incident. Police seized a 9 mm handgun and cocaine during the arrest.

The driver of the vehicle that dropped the suspects off was also arrested, police said.

A 24-year-old from Whitby, Ont., is charged with several firearm offences, breaking and entering with intent, and possession of drugs for the purposes of trafficking.

A 28-year-old from Pickering, Ont., is charged with breaking and entering and possession for the purpose of trafficking. The 33-year-old driver, who is from Toronto, is facing a drug trafficking charge.

Police say, in total, officers seized a Glock 9 mm handgun, seven bullets, approximately 250 grams of cocaine, hundreds of dollars in cash, several phones and a quantity of pills.

All three individuals were transported to Kingston Police headquarters, where they were held for a bail hearing.
