The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has announced two new millionaires in eastern Ontario. Lynne Moore of Cobden won $5 million in the Lotto 6/49 classic jackpot drawing on June 4, 2025, and Pierce Lapensee of Brockville also won $5 million with an Instant Extreme game. Moore is a retired banker, OLG said in a news release, who has been playing the lottery for 20 years. “A week after buying this ticket, I was cleaning my house and noticed it sitting there on the table,” Moore said at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “I said to myself, ‘Let me check this before I throw it out.’” She says she plans to give her two children money to buy houses and then save up for her four grandkids’ education. She also plans to renovate her own home and invest some of her winnings. Moore’s winning ticket was purchased at Beachburg Deli & Bakery on Beachburg Road in Beachburg. OLG says Lapensee is a dedicated weekly lottery player. The father of three said he picked up a ticket after dropping one of his kids off at school. “I thought to myself, ‘I have enough time to buy a ticket,’” he said. “I picked up an Instant Extreme ticket and played it in my car. When I realized it was a winner, I started shaking.” Lapensee’s winning ticket was purchased at Petro-Canada on Stewart Boulevard in Brockville. He says he plans to buy a house, save for his children’s education, and invest for the future.
