Weekend drowning mishap on the Muskoka River

21-year-old man drowns in Bracebridge Provincial police say a 21-year-old man has drowned while swimming in the Muskoka River in Bracebridge.

Man drowns after weekend swimming incident on the Muskoka River

Bracebridge OPP and emergency crews were called to assist after a man failed to surface while swimming in the Muskoka River July 21 shortly before 1:00pm .

They say a man was swimming in the river with a friend when he went in to distress and slipped under the water.  The victim was located by bystanders and CPR was initiated.

20-year old  Roberto Carmona of North York was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

This investigation is ongoing.
