Two people injured in weapons incident in Timmins

Police in Timmins have confirmed that two people were injured in a weapons incident in the area of Fifth Avenue around 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Two people were injured in what police are describing as a weapons incident in Timmins on Wednesday night.

Police were called to the area of Cedar Street North and Fifth Avenue around 8 p.m.

At this stage, not much is being disclosed about the status of the two injured and the weapons involved.

Patrol officers have been sweeping the scene, looking for evidence and the Timmins Police have requested the presence of the OPP canine unit.
