Two charged after police drug raid on North Bay home

Ontario Provincial Police have charged two individuals after executing a drug warrant at a North Bay residence earlier this week.

OPP’s North Bay detachment reported that the warrant was carried out at a home on Lakeshore Drive at about 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 19. The operation involved various police units, including the OPP emergency response team and canine unit.

Drugs and cash seized

“As a result of the investigation, police seized an amount of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine and morphine from the residence,” OPP said in a news release.

Police said that approximately $2,000 in cash was also confiscated.

As a result, a 24-year-old man from Scarborough and a 59-year-old local North Bay woman now each face four drug trafficking charges.

The man has been additionally charged with possession of property obtained by crime. The woman was also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

Both accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
