Timmins police investigate hit-and-run

Police are investigating a hit-and-run on Maple Street North in Timmins between Algonquin Boulevard and Fifth Avenue on Friday. Few details have been released.

The Timmins Police Service advised the public Friday of an increased police presence in the area of Maple Street North between Algonquin Boulevard and Fifth Avenue.

After being closed to the public for much of the day, police announced later Friday that it had completed its “investigation into a hit and run motor vehicle collision that occurred earlier in the day.”

“The Timmins Police Services wishes to thank the public for their cooperation.”

No other details of the incident have been released, but police did say they would advise the public when the area is cleared.
